You may not be able to run this pack on a 32 bit OS due to restrictions on Java memory space and some dumb restrictions on Java's implementation of OpenGL Instructions: 1) First, get FTB launcher from http://feed-the-beast.com/launcher and launch it through your method of choice. 2)When the launcher is loaded up, you should be able to use the dropdown box at the bottom to create a profile, and input your minecraft details. 3) Then, click on the options button near the top, either note or change the install folder to a place of your choosing, and set the ram slider to 1.5GB or more (2 Gb recommended). 4) Also, check "Reopen launcher after exiting minecraft?" if that is something you want the launcher to do. (not required) 5)After that, go back to the modpacks button at the top, and go through the modpack list on the left. You should see "Monster (v1.0.5) Minecraft Version 1.6.4" Highlight that, and on the right, just underneath the "Maps" button, there should be a dropdown. Click on that and select 1.0.10. You should be able to then click the launch button in the lower right, and eventually get into the game. After you have managed to load up the default 1.0.10 monster pack to the menu, Quit out. If you cannot load to the menu, you may have missed a step (or have encountered one of those magical fairy pixie magic bugs I get every so often, in which case post about it or pm me on irc and we'll see what we can figure out) 6)Now that you (Hopefully) have a fully working monster install, load up the ftb launcher again (Or, if you checked that reopen option earlier, it should open itself now that you've quit). 7) You'll need to download the zip below, and do a bit of configuring before you can connect. It's pretty quick and simple. https://dl.dropbox.com/s/3yxxif7u27niv2w/monstaddons.zip (last updated Rev. 3, Feb 24, 2014) 8) On the modpacks tab, highlight the monster pack again if it isn't already. There should be an "edit mod pack" button underneath the modpacks tab. Click it, and an interface should pop up. You can move selections from the right (Disabled), to the left (Enabled) and vice versa by using the enable or disable buttons in the center. Below, a "+" prefix means you move it from the right side to the left (Enable the mod), and a "-" prefix means you move it from the left to the right (Disable the mod) +BiomesOPlenty (might already be on the left side due to update, keep it on left side anyways) +EnderNet +ThaumicTinkererKAMI +SpecialMobs +And only one minimap mod of choice (JourneyMap, Opis (recommended), ReiMinimap, or ZansMinimap) (unless of course you like having multiple minimap mods cluttering your screenspace, then go ahead.) (Journeymap is weird in that it's kind of like a clientside version of Dynmap, and there's a local port you can connect to with your browser when MC is running for dynmap functionality.) -advancedGenetics -Agriculture -ATG -CompactWIndmills -ExpandedRedstone -GasCraft -GateCopy -Highlands -ReactorCraft -roguelike -RotaryCraft ++++ Also: optional Clientside stuff: If you wish, you can keep the minimap mod, as well as [ArmorStatusHUD, StatusEffectHUD, DamageIndicators and InventoryTweaks disabled, and you should still be able to connect. There may be other clientside mods you can experiment with. Your mileage may vary. Some people also like installing Zyn's hud, which has helpful tools and stuff and is clientside. You can install it by downloading the zip from http://minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/zyins-hud/ and placing the zip (Not extracting) into the mods folder of your monster install. I didn't include it because it clutters the keybinds and takes a bit of configuring. ++++ 9) You should be able to close that interface with the 'x' in the upper right. Also to doubly make sure everything is properly loaded, you might want to close the launcher before this next step. (Though keeping it open *shouldn't* effect anything.) 10)The zip you downloaded are mods/configs that aren't a part of the monster pack, but are used on this server. You need to go into that install folder you specified or noted down from the options tab in the launcher, then into the "Monster" directory, then into the "minecraft" directory. Within that directory, extract the zip. You should be overwriting the config and mods folder, as well as their contents. I shouldn't be updating it too much, but if you ever get an out of date warning when connecting to the server for any of the following mods, and we haven't moved to a higher version of Monster you'll probably have to re-download the link for an updated version. You'll also probably have to re-extract the addons if we *do* move to a higher version of monster, and perhaps re-disable/enable mods as I believe FTB launcher will wipe the mod folder out on an update. Addonpack, which may be updated periodically, will have: changelog.txt Configs for addon mods and the mods in the addonpack. +++ After all that, you should theoretically be able to launch monster pack through the launcher and connect to the server just fine. server seed: -779119875979611530
