Tentative Schedule

The table below gives the dates on which I plan to cover each section of the textbook in class. Any significant changes to this schedule will be pointed out in class, and I will (periodically) update this web page to reflect our actual pace. Remember that checking the web page is not an adequate substitute to showing up for (and paying attention in) class meetings!

In order to get the most out of each class meeting, you should try to read ahead by at least one class. That is, your first read-through of each section of the text should ideally occur before the class meeting in which it is introduced. After each section is introduced in class, you should spend at least a couple of hours outside of class working on the practice exercises (and any other assigned homework) corresponding to that section.
