Is not your soul more valuable than food, and your body than raiment?"4"aNo one is able to serve two masters: for he will hate the one, and love the other; or cleave to the one, and despise the other. You are not able to serve God and mammon." ! If thine eye may be bad, thy whole body will be dark. Then if the light which is in you is darkness, the darkness is so great."k OFor the light of the body is the eye. If thine eye may be clear, thy whole body will he lighted."Efor where your treasure is, there will be your heart also."  but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not corrupt, and thieves do not break through and steal:"yLay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and thieves break through and steal:"*Min order that thou mayest not appear unto the people fasting, but to thy Father who is in secret: and thy Father, who seeth in secret, will reward thee openly."@{But thou, fasting, anoint thy head, and wash thy face;"Z-And when you may fast, be not like the hypocrites, of a sad contenance: for they disfigure their faces, in order that they may appear unto the people fasting. Then he suffers Him."o>WAnd John continued to forbid Him saying, I have need to be baptized by thee, and comest thou unto me?]=3 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, in order to be baptized by him./<W Whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly purify His threshing-floor, and gather His wheat into the garner, and will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.K; I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but there is One coming after me more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry; He will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and fire.: But already the ax is laid to the root of the trees; therefore every tree not producing good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire.$9A and think not to say among yourselves; We have Abraham, our father; for I say unto you that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.:8oTherefore bring forth fruit worthy of repentance;/7WAnd seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said unto them; O generations of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?T6!and were being baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.d5AThen Jerusalem and all Judea, and all the region about the Jordan, were coming out to him,4And the same John had his raiment from camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his food was locusts and wild honey..3UThis is the one, who is spoken of by Isaiah the prophet saying, The voice of one roaring in the wilderness; Prepare ye the way of the Lord; make straight His paths.G2saying, Repent ye, for the kingdom of the heavens is at hand.T1 #In those days comes John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judea,-0SAnd having come, he went down into the city called Nazareth, in order that the words spoken by the prophets might be fulfilled, that He shall be called a Nazarene.>/uAnd having heard that Archelaus reigns over Judea instead of Herod his father, he was afraid to depart thither; and being warned in a dream he departed into the regions of Galilee.m.SAnd having arisen he took with him the young child and His mother and came into the land of Israel."-=Having arisen, take with you the young child and His mother, and depart into the land of Israel; for those seeking the life of the young child are dead.m,SAnd Herod having died, behold, the angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in Egypt in a dream, saying;-+SA voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation and weeping and great mourning; Rachel weeping for her children; and was not willing to be comforted, because they are not.Y*+Then the word having been spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying:)Then Herod, seeing that he was mocked by the wise men, became exceedingly angry; and having sent forth, he slew all the boys in Bethlehem and in all its boundaries, from two years old and under, according to the time which he inquired with the wise men.<(qand was there until the death of Herod: in order that the Word, having been spoken by the Lord through the prophet, might be fulfilled, saying; Out of Egypt have I called my son.n'UAnd having arisen, he took with him the young child and His mother by night and departed into Egypt;!&; And they having gone away, behold, the angel of the Lord appears in a dream to Joseph, saying; Having arisen, take the young child and His mother, and fly into Egypt; and be thou there until I may speak to thee; for Herod is about to seek the young child in order to destroy Him.x%i And having been warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed into their own country by another way.W$' And having come into the house they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and having fallen down they worshiped Him, and opening their treasures they offered Him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.G# And seeing the star they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.-"S And hearing the king they departed, and, behold, the star which they saw in the east went before them, until having come, it stood above where the young child was.=!sand sending them to Bethlehem he said; Having gone search diligently for the young child; and when you may find Him, notify me, in order that I, having gone, may worship Him also.m SThen Herod secretly calling the wise men, inquired with them the time of the appearing of the star,1[And thou, Bethlehem, the land of Judea, art by no means the least among the princes of Judah; for out of thee shall come a leader, who will shepherd my people, Israel.eCAnd they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judea; for thus it has been written by the prophet;s_and gathering together all the chief priests and scribes, inquired with them where Christ should be born.T!And Herod the king having heard, was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him,ykWhere is He that is born King of the Jews? And others fell among stones, where they had not much earth: and sprang up immediately, because they had no depth of earth:"gG And while he was sowing, some seeds fell by the wayside, and the fowls came and ate them up."`9 And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, Behold a sower went out to sow."   and many multitudes were gathered unto Him, so that having gone into a ship, He sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.R   On that day Jesus having come out from the house, was sitting by the sea: } 2For whosoever may do the will of my Father who is in the heavens, the same is my brother, and my sister, and my mother."c ? 1And reaching forth His hand to His disciples, He said, Behold my mother and my brothers!"h I 0And He responding said to the one speaking to Him; Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?"uc /And a certain one said to Him; Behold, thy mother and thy brothers stand without, seeking to speak to thee.|q .And He yet speaking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and His brothers stood without, seeking to speak to Him.b= -Then he goes, and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and having come in dwells there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So it will also be with this wicked generation." ,Then he says, I will return to my own house whence I came out; and having come, he finds it empty, swept, and beautified."xi +And when the unclean spirit may go out from the man, he goes through dry places seeking rest, and finds none."^5 *The queen of the south will rise in judgment with this generation, and condemn it: because she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold a greater than Solomon is here."4a )The men of Nineveh will rise in judgment with this generation, and condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, a greater than Jonah is here."&E (For as Jonah was in the stomach of the whale three days and three nights, so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights."'G 'He responding, said to them, A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and no sign shall be given unto it except the sign of the prophet Jonah."uc &Then certain ones of the scribes and Pharisees responded, saying, Teacher, we wish to see a sign from Thee.]~3 %For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shah be condemned."}% $And I say unto you, that every idle word whatsoever men shall speak, they shall give an account concerning the same in the day of judgment."%|C #The good man, out of the good treasure (heart) brings forth good things: and the wicked man out of the wicked treasure (heart) brings forth wicked things."{ "O ye generations of vipers, how are you, being evil, able to speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."z !Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by the fruit."dyA And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven unto him: but whosoever may speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven unto him, either in this age, or that which is to come."x) Therefore I say unto you, every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy of the Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men."jwM And the one not being with me is against me; and the one not gathering with me scatters abroad.")vK Or how is any one able to enter into the house of a strong man, and spoil his goods, unless he may first bind the strong man, and then he can spoil his house."nuU But if I through the Spirit of God cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come nigh unto you."ty lf I through Beelzebul cast out demons, through whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges."hsI And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand?"3r_ And Jesus knowing their thoughts said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself comes to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand."|qq And the Pharisees hearing, said, This man casts not out demons, except through Beelzebul the prince of the demons.epC And all the multitudes were astonished, and continued to say, Is not this the son of David?o  Then a demonized man was brought to Him, blind and dumb: and He healed him, so that the blind and dumb man both spake and saw.1n] And in his name shall the Gentiles hope.m The bruised reed He will not break, and He will not quench the smoking wick, until He may send forth judgment unto victory.Zl- He will not strive, nor scream, nor shall any one hear His voice in the streets.)kK Behold, my servant whom I have chosen; my beloved in whom my soul took delight: I will place my Spirit upon Him, and He will proclaim judgment to the Gentiles.Yj+ In order that the word spoken by Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, saying,Gi And He charged them much that they should not make Him known.nhU And Jesus having known it departed thence: and many multitudes followed him, and he healed them all.egC And the Pharisees, having gone out, took counsel against I Him that they might destroy Him.ffE Then He says to the man, Reach forth thy hand. Woe unto thee, Bethsaida! because if the mighty works which were wrought in you had been in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes."Oy Then He began to upbraid the cities in which the most mighty works of His were performed, because they did not repent.;No The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a gluttonous and wine-drinking man, a friend of publicans and sinners. Wisdom is truly justified by her children."SM For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon."aL; We piped unto you, and you did not dance; we mourned unto you, and you did not lament."K) But to whom shall I liken this generation? It is like little children sitting in the market-place, and calling to their comrades, and saying,"0J[ Let the one having ears to hear, hear."GI And if you wish to receive it, he is Elijah, who is to come."@H{ For all the prophets and the law prophesied till John." G From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of the heavens suffers violence, and the violent are taking it by force."DF Truly I say unto you, Among those having been born of women there has not risen a greater than John the Baptist: nevertheless the least in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he."E for this is he, concerning whom it has been written, Behold, I send my messenger before my face, who will prepare thy way before thee."aD; But what went you out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and more than a prophet:" C  But what went you out to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? W if he may not hear thee, take with thyself one or two, in order that in the mouth of two or three witnesses the word may stand." V But if thy brother may sin, go, and convict him between thee and him alone: if he may hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother:"pUYSo it is not the will of your Father who is in the heavens, that one of these little ones may perish."T# And if it maybe that he finds it, truly I say unto you, that he rejoiceth more over it than over the ninety and nine that went not astray."KS What seems to you? if there may be a hundred sheep to one man, and one of them may go astray, does he not, leaving the ninety and nine, going to the mountains, seek that which has gone astray?" And all were astonished.3W_And He did not permit him, but says to him, Go to thine own house to thy people, and proclaim to them how many things the Lord has done for thee, and had mercy on thee."eVCAnd He having come to the ship, the demonized man intreated Him that he should be with Him.DUAnd they began to intreat Him to depart from their coasts.jTMAnd those seeing, related to them how it happened to the demonized man and concerning the swine.S-And they come to Jesus, and see the demonized man sitting down, both clothed and in his right mind, the one called Legion; and they were afraid. RAnd those herding them fled, and reported in the city, and in the country. And they came out to see what it was that came to pass.gQG And Jesus immediately permitted them. And the unclean spirits having gone out, came into the swine: and the herd rushed down a precipice into the sea, and there were about two thousand: and they were strangled in the sea.dPA And they intreated Him, saying, Send us into the swine, in order that we may go into them.FO And there was a great herd of swine feeding in the mountain._N7 And he continued to intreat Him much, that He would not send them out of the country.jMM And He asked him, What is thy name? I adjure thee in the name of God, that you may not torment me.MJAnd seeing Jesus a great way off, he ran to Him, and worshiped Him;I+No one was able to tame him: and all the time, night and day, he was among the tombs in the mountains, crying, and cutting himself with stones.Hbecause frequently he had been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains were slipped off by him, and the fetters torn to pieces.aG;who had his dwelling among the tombs: neither was any one able to bind him with chains;`F9And a man from the tombs, with an unclean spirit met Him, having come out of the ship;IE And they came beyond the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes, D )And they feared with a great fear, and continued to say to one another, Who then is this, because the wind and the sea obey Him?PC(And He said to them, Why are you so cowardly? how have you not faith?"vBe'And being awakened, He said to the sea, Be calm, be quiet. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."A&And He was in the stern, sleeping on a pillow: and they awaken Him, and say to Him; Teacher, is there no care to thee that we perish?w@g%And there was a great storm of wind: and the waves were dashing into the ship, so that it was already filled.q?[$And leaving the multitude, they receive Him, as He was in the ship; and other ships were also with Him.`>9#And He says to them, on that day, it being evening, Let us go away to the other side."q=["And without a parable He did not speak to them: and He privately expounded all things to His disciples.f<E!And in many such parables He continued to speak the word to them, as they were able to hear.8;i and when it may be sowed, it springs up, and becomes the greatest of herbs, and produces great branches; so that the birds of the heavens are able to lodge under its shadow." :Tis like a grain of mustard seed, which when it may be sown upon the earth, is the smallest of all seeds which are upon the earth,"f9EAnd He said, To what may we liken the kingdom of God? or in what parable may we present it?"p8YAnd when the fruit may develop, immediately he thrusts in the sickle, because the harvest is at hand."t7aThe earth spontaneously brings forth fruit; first the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear."l6Qand he may sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed germinates and grows, as he does not know."Y5+And He said, Thus is the kingdom of God, as a man may cast seed on the ground;"4yFor whosoever has, it shall be given unto him: and he who has not, it shall be taken from him even that which he has."3)And He said to them. and there was a voice from heaven, saying; Thou art my beloved Son, I am delighted in Thee. bAnd it came to pass while all the people were being baptized, and Jesus having been baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,%and she a widow of about fourscore years, who did not depart from the temple, worshiping night and day with fastings and prayers.6=e$And Anna was a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel of the tribe of Asher, herself being advanced in many days, having lived with her husband seven years from her virginity;m<S#and a sword shall go through thy soul, in order that the reasonings of many hearts may be revealed.,;Q"And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, His mother; and while the parents are bringing in the little child Jesus, that they may do according to the provisions of law concerning Him,3{and it was revealed unto him by the Holy Spirit, that he should not see death before he may see the Christ of the Lord.72gAnd behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and the same man was righteous and godly, awaiting the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him;1and to offer a sacrifice according to that which has been written in the law of the Lord, a pair of turtle-doves, or two young pigeons.v0eas it was written in the law of the Lord; for behold, I preach unto you the gospel of great joy, which shall be to all people;" And behold an angel of the Lord stood over them and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they feared with great fear.j!MAnd the shepherds were in that country, tenting out and keeping guard over their flock by night.% CAnd she brought forth her firstborn son, and she wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn._7And it came to pass while they were there the days of her parturition were fulfilled.|qto enroll himself along with Mary, the wife having been betrothed to him, being in an advanced state of pregnancy.8iAnd Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city Nazareth, into Judea, into the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,I And all were going forth to enroll, each one into his own city.J This was the first enrollment, Cyrenius being governor of Syria.h KIt came to pass in those days, a decree went out from Augustus Caesar, to enroll all the world. And the hand of the Lord was with him.   AAnd fear came upon all of those dwelling around; and all these words were spoken abroad in all the mountainous regions of Judea.{  q@And all marveled. And his mouth immediately opened and his tongue loosed, and he continued to speak, praising God.R ?And having asked for a writing tablet, he wrote saying; His name is John.O >And they were beckoning to his father, what he might wish to call him.a ==And they said to her; That there is no one among thy kindred who is called by this name.I  >k==<M And by chance a certain priest came down that way: and seeing him, passed by on the other side."V=% Jesus responding said, A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho; and fell among thieves, who indeed having stripped him of his raiment, administered blows, went away, leaving him half dead."T<! But he, wishing to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?S; And He said to him, You answered correctly: do this, and you shall live."M: And he responding said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with divine love from all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.P9 He said to him, What has been written in the law? how do you read it?"}8s And behold, a certain lawyer stood up tempting Him, saying, Teacher, having done what shall I inherit eternal life?57c For I say unto you, that many kings and prophets desired to see those things which you see, and saw them not; and to hear those things which you hear, and heard them not."s6_ And turning to His disciples, privately He said, Happy are your eyes, seeing those things which you see."k5O And turning to His disciples, He said, All things have been delivered to me by my Father: and no one knoweth who the Son is, except the Father; and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whom He may wish to reveal Him."4# At the same hour He rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I praise thee, O Father, Lord of the heaven and the earth, because thou hast hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and revealed them to babes: yea, Father, because it was thus pleasing in thy sight." 3  Moreover do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rejoice that your names are written in the heavens."2 Behold I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you."W1' And He said to them, I saw Satan having fallen as the lightning from heaven."n0U And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subordinated to us in thy name./ He that heareth you heareth me; he that rejecteth you rejecteth me; and he that rejecteth me rejecteth Him that sent me."d.A And thou, Capernaum, art thou not exalted up to heaven? thou shalt be cast down to Hades."_-7 Moreover it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you."S, Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works which were wrought in you had been in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting down in sackcloth and ashes."g+G For I say unto you, that it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city."* Even the dust from your city, that cleaveth to our feet, do we wipe off against you: but know this, that the kingdom of God is at hand.") And into whatsoever city you may enter, and they may not receive you, having come out into the streets of the same, say,"g(G and heal the sick who are in it, and say to them, The kingdom of God has come nigh unto you."q'[ Into whatsoever city you may enter and they may receive you, eat those things which are placed by you:"&1 Abide in the same house, eating and drinking those things which are with them: for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house."u%c And if the son of peace may be there, your peace shall rest upon it: but if not, it shall return unto you."T$! Into whatsoever house you may enter, first say, Peace be unto this house."Q# Take neither purse, nor valise, nor sandals: salute no one by the way."H"  Go: behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves."4!a And He said to them, The harvest is indeed great, but the laborers are few: therefore pray you the Lord of the harvest, that He may send forth laborers into His harvest."$  C After these things the Lord chose seventy others also, and sent them out two by two before His face, into every place and city, where He was about to come.yk >And Jesus said to him, No one putting his hand to the plow, and looking back, is worthy of the kingdom of God."ve =And another said to Him, Lord, I will follow thee; but first permit me to bid adieu to those at my own home.ve
