The 49th annual Lynnfield Rotary Chicken Barbecue was a great success with record attendance. Perfect weather helped make the event particularly enjoyable. Attendees also got to enjoy
the Antique cars that were included on the Lynnfield Common. This year's Barbecue was a very successful fundraiser, helping us to support the needs of our local community.
BUY-A-BED initiative for Kazakhstan orphanage house
As Rotarians we are committed to “service above self” in both community and international services. Our work abroad is as important as our work at home, especially in promoting peace and understanding. Through our friend and Ambassadorial scholar, Ainash Alpeissova, a Kazakhstan native, the Lynnfield Rotary Club is beginning the “BUY-A-BED” initiative to provide beds to the Baganashyl Oblast orphanage house. These children range in age from toddlers to teenagers. The current conditions of beds and mattresses is deplorable and in disrepair. Our interest is to initially provide 50 beds with mattresses to the house this year and another 170 beds next year. Please join us in raising funds to make this a reality for these children. A complete bed with mattress will cost US $250.
We ask all Rotarians, Rotary clubs, and friends of Rotary to consider either buying a bed or contributing toward the purchase of a bed. Thank you in advance for your kindness. The children of the orphanage house thank you.
To sponsor a bed make your check payable to “Lynnfield Rotary BUY-A-BED" and mail to: Lynnfield Rotary, P.O. Box 216, Lynnfield , MA 01940.
