I’ve been a Research Assistant for the Guarné lab since 2005 and, though I am involved in all projects to a certain extent, I mainly work on DNA replication and segregation in bacteria. When I’m not in the lab, I like to travel, bike, read and play with my pug Vader.

I work on the regulation of DNA replication in E.coli. Outside the lab, I enjoy playing softball, playing the violin, and of course snuggling with my four cats.

I did my undergraduate at McMaster and continued with my PhD studies working on initiation of DNA replication in yeast.
Monica Pillon PhD Candidate
I work on the DNA mismatch repair pathway, but during my spare time I thoroughly enjoy running. I also like going to the movies and watching performances by the Canadian Opera Company.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax. I am now pursuing my MSc degree working on the mechanisms of DNA replication initiation. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling and baking cupcakes.

I completed my undergraduate here at McMaster and after two Co-op terms in the lab, I decided to pursue my MSc degree working on Streptomyces coelicolor proteins of unknown function.
