Glee Club

Group Singing for Kids (ages 12-17)

Class ID # 280

Has the hit TV show GLEE inspired your teen to take it from the shower to the stage?

Villa Musica is developing our very own GLEE Club with songs as seen on the show in addition to other great numbers.
During this ten week program participants study concepts of musical notation, breath control, vocal placement, pitch control, ear training, terminology, harmony, blending voices and performance technique while learning movement to put some step into the notes.

Small interactive ensembles allow students the opportunity for individual attention and community collaboration with other vocalists of their own age in a comfortable and nurturing atmosphere. All concluding in a GLEE Club performance at the end of each session with our very own Villa Musica GLEE Musicians!

Noelle Marie Kerr

Noelle Marie Kerr has been performing on stage since the age of two and has been directing productions since sixteen. Her favorite complex roles portrayed include Eponine (Les Miserables), Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors) and the daring Harper (Angels inAmerica). Noelle has founded several musical theatre programs in honor of her mother who instilled the love and performance of arts. She enjoys producing, directing, and performing at every age level and has directed ages two to adults in shows in community theatres, CYT, schools, camps, churches and Universities as well as teaching unconventional voice lessons specializing in young singers.
Noelle has been grateful for the opportunities to perform in seven countries - her next destination is Africa. Noelle has a Bachelor of Arts in Visual and Performing Arts: Music and Theatre: Arts and Education from California State University, San Marcos where she developed the Take Stage Ensemble after being the only female of her class in the highly competitive Directing program at Cal State Fullerton. Noelle decided to transfer to CSUSM for this directing opportunity redefining her performance focus. She continued at CSUSM for the Multiple Subjects: Arts Emphasized Credential Program. She was then hired as the Choral Music Teacher and Musical Theatre Director at Bird Rock Elementary and has continued to direct musicals and choral groups throughout San Diego.
Noelle was recently one of thirty performance artists from around the globe to be accepted into a Performance and Directing Tour in Italy beginning this past January 2010 but deferred the opportunity to stay in San Diego to work with young performers and organization in developing their theatre skills and programs.
Noelle will be directing the new GLEE Club and Musical Theatre Reviews for Villa Musica, a Choir at the La Jolla YMCA and continues performing and directing throughout San Diego. Noelle is thrilled for the opportunity to work with and learn from such esteemed professional musicians and educators at Villa Musica.
