As you've noticed, the Koketsu forums have been down. In actuality, I've flip the switch permanently. I didn't want to do this, but there's a few reasons why I have done so:

• There hasn't been any real activity on the board for a very long time. It's most likely due to everyone's lives being more occupied over the years with work, school, and family.

• It costs money to keep the website hosted online, and to renew the IP.Board license. Although it isn't entirely expensive, it adds up as I've been paying for it myself monthly. I know I most of you are willing to contribute to help, but I don't like asking for money.

• I spend a lot of time maintaining the forums even if there's little activity, to ensure it's secure, up to date, and spam free. Furthermore, Koketsu isn't the only website I maintain. There's a few more sites I take care of on my time, including a paying client, and couple small sites for friends and family which I do for free.


On to the point…

I simply want to have more open time, to focus on other things. I'm closing the Koketsu forums as well as all the sites I've been maintaining for free. I'm sorry, but I'm not accepting any new clients, and I'm not accepting any money to keep these sites online. I hope everybody understands, that I'm not being cheap or selfish.


What now?

I will keep the team-koketsu.com domain name itself, and continue to pay for it, that way we won't lose it. The entire Team Koketsu Invision Power Board SQL database has been backed up as best as possible. If one of our team members feel qualified, and wishes to take over, feel free to get a hold of me by sending an email to admin@team-koketsu.com. It would be better if you have some experience with web administration, PHP, MySQL, and DNS. I won't be able to guide you through setting everything up, but I'd be happy to transfer everything to you.

Team-Koketsu.com was launched in 2004, while Team Koketsu itself was established years before. This isn't the end of our team, we still have ways to keep in touch. Hopefully we'll barbecue again sometime soon!
